Dan was raised in Lindenwald and was the second of five boys. Growing up in a big family and tight knit community, Dan learned the importance of giving back. Shortly after high school Dan started working for Champion Paper and married his wife Debbie. Dan and Debbie went on to have three kids. Committed to the community, their kids all went through St. Ann’s and Badin.
Dan was an integral part of the CYO community. To anyone who met Dan it became evident that second to being a family man, Dan was a coach. Dan started coaching football at age 24 with his father Bill Cox for the St. Ann Bruins. What started as a father son coaching duo, ignited a 35-year coaching career. Dan eventually transitioned to Badin in the late 90’s
Coaching was his passion, allowing him the opportunity to build relationships, counsel and foster growth in those he met.
The Dan Cox Legacy Fund was established to help meet the financial needs of our Catholic youth in education, athletics and community programs.
